Our brains undergo dramatic changes during the postpartum period. During this period of neuroplasticity there is incredible growth and transformation. Yes, you may find it a little more difficult to recall the name of your favorite book or movie, but you may also experience greater resilience, increased problem-solving, enhanced tolerance for boredom, heightened senses to detect threats, and a capacity for stronger attachment. Our increased need to feel connected to others tells us to seek out friends, family and neighbors with which to pass the time with our babies. The maternal brain does not thrive on loneliness and stress hormones can impede the new connections that our brains are working to construct.
I created this support group for moms of infants to lean on each other for support, love, connection and growth. Come build a community and meet other new moms who are taking it one day at a time with their own human creations. We will share discussion, snacks and wisdom.
Topics of discussion may include: processing your birth, conflicts and guilt surrounding feeding your baby, transition into mom-life, and management of information and misinformation that may inundate you.
Come to our new moms support group (with your baby, of course!)
Intended for moms with babies under one year.
Snacks and drinks will be served!
